If you build it…they will come

Well, I certainly ended Herstory month well! Give thanks for indulging in some of my favorite pastimes this weekend: brunches, bubble baths, and books. I read Rhonda McKnight’s Bitter and Sweet and highly recommend this beautiful story about sisterhood, generational trauma, and building a legacy.

Funny I would find this wonderful novel set in my beloved SC Lowcountry while I was in VA. Also remarkable how the dayclean meditation for today is about building a legacy. I often talk about, write about, and work about building a family farm, community organizations, and an enterprise for the next generation. But I spend a lot less time thinking about and preparing for how I might really feel when they come to share in what I helped build for the collective. That’s got to change because I have a feeling this year will womanifest the visions I’ve had and I want to be ready with grace. #ifyoubuildittheywillcome
