In This Moment

We did not create the DDQ or this website in reaction to what is happening around the USA in this moment - we started the DDQ years before the latest jarring reminder for many of us of how unjust our society has been, and still is in many respects.

But clearly we have been presented with a divine opportunity in this moment. So many Black women across this country are turning away from the “captain save-a-society” stance, and making intentional pivots towards taking real good care of ourselves for a change. We are softening, strategizing, sharing, saying no - all the things we need to do to be better than okay in the future.

And it is a broad and deep shift - from the girlies to the Elders, the craft makers to the C-suite movers and shakers. The November 11th DDQ Journal entry Diversify reminds us that having connections to sisters from different lived experiences can help us better navigate the world around us, and create a more abundant life for our enjoyment.
