Re-presentation Matters

I’m meditating on presents and presentation this dayclean QueenSiS - it’s a very appropriate topic 6 days before Christmas right? I feel like representation really can be a beautiful gift.

I love that we now have the opportunity to see movies, documentaries and scripted shows that represent ancient African Queens in so much of their beautiful black glory, draped in fine linen, cowrie shells, gold, diamonds and flowers. I do realize some of it is pure ‘cinematic license’, but like Taurus Riley says, “she’s royal, and I want her in my life”! I feel deeply inspired by these images and what they represent, I feel empowered to infuse royalty in my own re-presentation in this world. #divinerepresentation
